ROAS

Return on ad spend — revenue generated for every dollar of media or program spend.

Definition

ROAS is the most common headline metric in performance marketing. It's calculated as attributed revenue divided by spend. A 3x ROAS means $3 of revenue for every $1 spent.

For creator programs, blended ROAS (organic post performance + whitelisted paid + downstream lift) usually beats paid-only ROAS, but only when measurement accounts for halo effects like branded search and email signups.

Example

A whitelisted creator campaign generates $180K on $45K of total program spend — that's a 4x ROAS, against a 2.8x paid-social baseline.
