Whitelisting

Granting a brand permission to run paid ads from the creator's social handle rather than the brand's own.

Also known as: Creator-handle ads, Allowlisting

Definition

Whitelisting is the contract and technical handshake that lets a brand run paid media from a creator's social account. The post looks like the creator's organic post but is targeted, optimized, and paid for by the brand. On Meta this is handled through Partnership Ads; on TikTok through Spark Ads.

Whitelisting reliably doubles or triples the ROI of the same creator post compared to running organic-only, because the brand can target far beyond the creator's follower base and keep the post live indefinitely.

Example

A beauty brand whitelists 20 creator posts after launch and routes 60% of paid budget through them — CAC drops 30% versus brand-handle ads.
